Isner Reaches Title Match in Doubles
Greensboro’s John Isner came up short Friday in his bid for a second consecutive victory in the U.S. Tennis Association Challenger series. Isner, seeded eighth, dropped a 6-7, 6-1, 6-0 decision to fourth-seeded Wayne Odesnik in the quarterfinal round in Sacramento, Calif. Isner stayed alive in doubles, though, teaming with Rajeev Ram to beat Stephen Amritraj and Daniel King-Turner 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 in a semifinal.
